Erin and Mycheal's Wedding

Joel's baby sister, Erin, got married! On August 9th she married Mycheal Wiles in the Billings, MT temple. We were so happy to be a part of her day.

I got up super early to get ready and ride to Billings with Brenda so we could be with Erin while she got her hair and make up done. Then we headed to the temple! Joel came up later (than me) with the kids to be there for the sealing. Thankfully there were a couple of uncles outside the temple to help take care of our kiddos. 

The sealing was beautiful, of course. Erin was beautiful, and it was very emotional. I kind of felt like an old woman, because I just kept thinking of Erin as a little girl and watching her grow up. That sounds like an old lady thing to do, doesn't it? Well, I cried the entire time, and we were so happy for Mycheal and Erin. 

I didn't bring our camera, so all of these pictures were taken by the photographer. I wish I had at least pulled out the camera at the reception! Although, the battery might have been dead on it by then, I don't remember.

 After pictures was a luncheon at a church building in Billings. Then back to Cowley to get ready for the reception. There was a chance that it was going to rain, and that was a problem since the reception was all set up in Roland's back yard. But I'm sure there were many prayers said that the rain would hold off, and luckily it did. So Erin and Mycheal had an absolutely beautiful outdoor reception.

Now, here's were I really wish I had had my camera, because I only have these few candids that the photographer took that have Adam (and some cousins) in them. But we had a lovely time, ate some good food, and enjoyed ourselves.

Happy Birthday, Jenna!

While we were in Cowley/Lovell, Jenna had her 11th birthday! We got to celebrate with my side and Joel's side of the family, but not at the same time. It was kind of a busy week for the Robertsons. :) At Grandma K's house Jenna helped make "dirt"; pudding with crushed oreos and gummy worms. She got to blow out candled and open presents. Can you believe she's already 11!?

We celebrated with Robertsons the Saturday after the wedding, so instead of birthday cake Jenna got to blow out candles in leftover wedding sheet cake. It was delicious, though! She got to open more presents, and I think she had a good time.  We kind of had to do her birthday in bits and pieces this year, but she was very understanding and didn't ever get upset about it. She's growing up. :)

Devil's Canyon

After the Robertson reunion we headed to Cowley to be there for Erin's wedding! In the week before the wedding, Joel was able to go down Devil's Canyon with two of his brothers. It's been too long since he's gone down, so it was great he was able to go. He caught a pretty big fish, and believe it or not he also caught a bird. No picture of that, though. However, Dane does owe Joel $1000 because of it. :)

Robertson Family Reunion

On August 3rd, a Saturday, Joel and I woke up crazy early so we could pack up and get to the Robertson reunion. The reunion was on the Big Horn Mountains at a campsite near Hyattville. It was a great spot; beautiful, green, with a stream running close to the pavilion area where we had meals.

The kids had a great time with cousins, some they knew well and some they didn't. The older three pretty much took off when we got there and we hardly saw them the rest of the time. Joel had fun participating in flag football and some ultimate frisbee. There was also a lot of horseshoe playing. Joel let the kids swim in the stream, which they loved.

Audrey did pretty well while we were there. She walked and crawled around and was pretty happy to explore. She even got her two naps, thanks to people who let us put her down in their trailers. 

We always have fun at family reunions. The only thing that made us sad about this one was that we couldn't be there longer because of work. But we enjoyed our one day there and having the opportunity to see, play with, and chat with family that we don't get to see very often.

So Adam, Joaquin, and Gavin were "playing" and it was hilarious. They were tackling, wrestling, pushing, and generally fighting. They didn't gang up on one person, and would kind of take turns. Someones it was more playing and sometimes it was more actual fighting. No one cried, no one got seriously hurt, and it was actually quite entertaining to watch.

Adrienne's birthday

Adrienne came to visit us for a couple of days at the end of July. It was only a few days past her birthday, so of course I made her a birthday cake! It was quite delicious, if I do say so myself. It was great to have Adrienne here, even if it was only for a bit. We didn't do a whole lot, but we did discover the Green River is poor in the nostalgic candy area. Don't ask.

Audrey is One!

Who can believe our baby is a year old? We can't! But she is. Life is crazy.

On June 29, Miss Audrey turned one. It was Flaming Gorge days, so we went to the parade in the morning, then went down to the island so Joel could help man the station for Castle Rock and the kids and I walked around and played a bit. It was a hot day! In the evening Audrey got to open presents and eat her cake! She didn't care too much about presents, but she did enjoy playing with her toys. She cared a lot more about the cake, and she reminded me of Adam with his birthday cake because she was actually pretty efficient in her cake eating. She was a holy mess by the time she was done, though!

Some things about Audrey at one:

She's not walking yet, but she cruises along the furniture and walks with someone holding her hands.

She basically knows the difference between "Mama" and "Dada".

She loves to pull things out in the kitchen and the pantry. Preferably crackers or pretzels. She likes to make a mess.

She likes being outside, but doesn't like crawling on grass. So she bear crawls on her hands and toes.

She takes two naps a day and sleeps through the night. Overall she's a great sleeper!

She likes to crawl on Dad, or Mom if Dad isn't available. She will crawl over, under, around, or wherever, and it's the best when she takes a rest and lays her head down on us.

She likes to scream. When she's happy or sad or mad, she screams. It can be very loud. And very piercing. It's not our favorite.

She has eight teeth.

She calls all food "nanana". She will eat just about anything, but I think her favorite food is still cheese. She likes fruits and veggies. She's just starting to get pickier about eating. I'm hoping it won't continue.

She loves her brothers and sister and will crawl after them to try and keep up with the big kids.
