December was a busy month, filled with concerts, ward parties, making treats, delivering treats, and a quick (but great!) trip up North to be with Daniel while he went through the temple for the first time. It's the best time of the year! Of course we all couldn't wait for Christmas, so we were happy when Christmas Eve finally rolled around.
We had a low key Christmas Eve, as usual. Joel was home, and we just kind of hung out all day. The kids played outside for most of the afternoon because it was a nice day. We had a big meal of roast, potatoes, rolls, etc for dinner. After dinner we drove around looking at Christmas lights, then came home for root beef floats or eggnog shakes. All the kids chose root beer floats. I snapped a few pictures of them eating their floats, and someone had a crazy face in all of them. Oh well.
I laugh so hard every time I see this picture of Jenna! I think she's just taken a big drink of the root beer and it stung her throat. So funny!
After treats we watched some of A Christmas Story, then we tried to take our traditional "kids in front of the Christmas tree" picture. Audrey was not loving it.
Luckily, we got one shot with her smiling...
I think we told the kids they could wake us up at 6:30 Christmas morning, but no earlier. They were in our room right at 6:30, I think they were waiting anxiously. After a family prayer we attacked our stockings and did the whole Christmas Morning thing. I didn't get as many pictures as I usually do, but I got enough.
Jenna made this Owl pillow for Audrey, and Audrey loves it! She sleeps with it every night.
We got this ball popper for Audrey, but she is not the only one who enjoys it.
We spent Christmas day relaxing, eating leftovers, watching movies, and eating candy. It was great!
It snowed most of the day on Christmas, and the day after. I felt like it was just a couple days late! Lucky, it stopped snowing enough for us to travel.
A few days after Christmas we headed up to Cowley to spend some time with the Robertson clan. We haven't spent much time with them all year, so it was great to have a chance to spend some quality time with them. Believe it or not, I didn't take ONE picture while we were in Cowley. We played games, Joel, Adam, and I think Dane and Daniel went shooting, I learned how to make Spudnuts from Joel's Great Aunt Arlene, and we spend New Years Eve at Daniel and Amanda's house playing games and eating a lot of delicious food. We didn't get to do some of the things we planned on because it was so cold. Nobody wanted to sled when it was -5 outside: colder with the wind chill! But we still had an awesome time.
We came home New Years Day, Joel headed back to work the next day, and the next week the kids were back to school. On to 2015!
