Happy Anniversary

Yesterday Joel and I celebrated our 8th anniversary. We exchanged gifts last week (because we just couldn't wait), and then last night we went out to dinner. We were able to go without our kids, which hasn't happened in quite awhile. Thanks to our awesome friends for watching our children!

Joel had the great idea to take a little "tour" of downtown Laramie. We went to Sweet Melissa's for our appetizer; if you've never had the artichoke dip appetizer from Sweet Melissa's, go there right now and get it. You won't regret it.

We headed to Jeffrey's for our main dish. I had a delish chicken and spinach salad. They brought it to me in this crazy big bowl! I had already eaten quite a bit when Joel took this picture. (Please focus on the bowl, not the crazy look on my face)

Joel enjoyed his sesame chicken with peanuts and broccoli over rice. Neither one of us could finish our dinner, so we'll have a nice lunch today!

Then it was onward to LoveJoy's for dessert. My deep fried New York cheesecake with ice cream was to die for, and Joel's root beer float was also very yummy.

We had a great anniversary dinner, and we couldn't have been more stuffed by the end of the evening!
Over dinner we talked about the fact that the last eight years have really flown by. In eight more years I'm sure we'll be amazed at how quickly time passes. I'm happy to be sharing my time with my best friend!

Now, to segue into some older news. I really haven't been motivated to blog lately, so I've missed a few things.

Will had his first school concert a few weeks ago. He was adorable all dressed up like a puppy. They sang "Oh where, oh where has my little dog gone" and "How much is that doggy in the window". He sang the songs and did the actions, all while squinting into the crowd trying to find where we were sitting. It was adorable!

One big piece of news that I haven't blogged about is that Joel's Mom, Brenda, got married on the 14th of March. We were able to get up to Lovell after Joel worked the night before. She married Roland Simmons from Cowley. Here is a picture of the whole bunch (minus Dane, of course).

We are very happy for Brenda and Roland!

About time

Joel has been bugging me to post something for many weeks now. I didn't post at all in February, so I am a major slacker in the blog department. I have just felt like there hasn't been much to say. I've also been frustrated that I have had no luck in uploading my 2009 blog book, so I have been less motivated to blog, because why blog when I can't even turn it into a book! Anyway...

We really haven't done a whole lot over the month of February. We had a fun and delicious Superbowl party at our friends' house. Jenna had her school concert; the theme was a beach party. It was a great concert, but made me really sick of the cold.

Jenna lost one tooth and Will lost two. In the space where two teeth left only one tooth is coming in, and it's taking up the entire space. I see trouble if two baby teeth get knocked out for every permanent tooth. He and Jenna are both, most definitely, going to need braces in the future. I can already see the $ those mouths are going to absorb.

That seriously about covers our entire month of February. Joel has been on a pretty nice schedule at work, consistently working Mon, Tues, Wed. This is his last week with that schedule, then it's going to be back to the unpredictable.

This weekend we get to go to Casper for the State Basketball tournament. Joel's little sister, Erin, is playing. We are excited to get to watch her play. The Sunday after that we are heading up to Lovell for part of Spring Break. Joel has to work the last part of spring break, so we only get to spend a few days in Lovell. But we are looking forward to it.

I wish I at least had some fun pictures to post or something, but I don't! It hasn't been a very impressive post, but at least it's something. :)
