Flaming Gorge Days

The kids enjoyed the Flaming Gorge Days parade this year, as usual. And of course we came home with tons of candy. After the parade we went to the festival in the park. We didn't do a whole lot, mostly walked around to see all the vendors. The kids played at the park and before we left the younger three got nice and wet at the splash park.

In the evening we roasted marshmallows and had s'mores. Then the boys played a little basketball. It was a great day spent together.

That's Adam's perfectly toasted marshmallow next to William's head.

Beautiful flowers

I love my lilacs every year, and for some reason I thought they were particularly beautiful this year. I also planted some small plants in a planter box on the deck. They are so cheery.

A few weeks after planting more plants were blooming. They are a joy to watch.

And when Audrey saw me taking pictures of flowers she thought I'd better take some pictures of her as well. She loves to pose!

A trip to Lovell

The week after school got out, and after Adam's last soccer tournament, the kids and I headed up to Lovell to see Grandma and Grandpa K. I was pretty tired of all the traveling we'd done over the last month, so once we got there I did my best to do almost nothing! My entire "to do" list consisted of one thing. Buy a bucket of honey from Queen Bee. And I did. And I bought honey candy. It was delicious.

We played a lot of games while we were there, and colored a lot of pictures. Sometimes I stayed up way too late and sometimes I went to bed early. We did take a quick trip up to Five Springs. It was beautiful, the weather was great, and the s'mores were delicious!

As always I wish I had taken more pictures. I only got pictures at Five Springs. And I didn't get any with Grandpa K, which made me sad. But we had a great time and it was a wonderful trip!

The Falls had a lot of foam at the bottom.

Spurs Soccer

If you want to know what dominated our Spring, I will give you one word. Spurs.  Adam was on the traveling soccer team for the first time this Spring. We didn't know quite what we were in for. It was definitely intense. The amount of practices, the traveling, the expense, just all of it.  But Adam loved it, and it was a great experience for him.  I've posted some pictures in no particular order that are related to Spurs in one way or another.  He went to tournaments in Cody, Twin Fall, ID, Casper, Grand Junction, CO, and Casper again.

Joel took the boys to Twin Falls. I had to stay home because I had to speak at the Saturday evening meeting of Stake Conference. The girls stayed with me.

Eating at Sanford's Grub and Pub in Casper.

Freezing our tooshies off in Casper.

 At the mall in Casper.

Two big wins in Grand Junction!

My birthday

I had a birthday again this year. They just keep coming.  Joel left on my birthday to take Adam and Audrey up to Cody for Adam's first Spurs Soccer tournament.  I stayed home with Will and Jenna because Will had Area Achievement Days at the college the next day. He played two songs for a judge and was chosen to play a song at the honors concert that evening. He did a great job, and I was so proud of him!

My friends came over on my birthday to eat dinner, cake, and hang out. It was a great birthday. I forgot to get a picture when everyone was here, but I did get one real quick before Jackie and Holly left. I was sad I didn't get Erin and Rachel (and Sheri couldn't come)!

A few random pics

Here's a few pictures I want to have on the blog. Audrey painting, and Adam with his pinewood derby car.  He didn't win, but he had a good time.
