Eight is Great!

Guess who turned eight this year? Adam! Yay! We traveled home from Cowley the day before his birthday, so we stopped at the Big Cone for a bit of an early birthday celebration. Ice cream is still yummy when it's cold and snowing outside.

Adam's birthday was on Sunday this year. Before church he opened his presents. He was excited about his very own pocket knife and scriptures with his name on them. He chose pizza for dinner, and peanut butter whip brownies for his birthday cake. Both great choices! He also enjoyed watching some football with Dad.

We love having Adam in our family! He is one of a kind. He's always full of energy, loves sports of all kinds, and was recently voted on to the student counsel. Indoor soccer starts in January and he can't wait! We love you, Adam!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We headed up to Cowley this year for Thanksgiving because Joel took some time off of work. We went up on Tuesday to try and maximize our vacation time. We had a great time while we were there. We ate Thanksgiving dinner with the Robertsons at the Lovell Middle School. We ate in the commons area, and then afterwards there was a lot of basketball playing and running around in the gym. It was a great time and it was nice catching up with a lot of the Robertsons.

Another fun thing that happened that week was that Daniel and Amanda had their baby the Tuesday before Thanksgiving! She came a little earlier than expected, so it was a little bit of a surprise, but everything went well and both Mom and Baby were healthy and home the next day. I got to hold baby Myla on Thanksgiving before we headed to the big dinner, and she was so tiny! It's been awhile since I've held a baby that new, and she is just beautiful.

Another fun thing to see was Audrey and Lydia playing together. Audrey has always loved Lydia, and always wanted to hold her and play with her. But Lydia is now big enough to play back! She is about a year and a half younger than Audrey, but they had so much fun playing together.

We came home on Saturday because Adam's birthday was on Sunday and we didn't want to make him spend most of the day in the car. The weather and roads were a little scary for a bit, but we made it safely. We had a great Thanksgiving!

Audrey found a few second cousins to play with after Thanksgiving dinner. She's a friendly girl.

Happy Birthday, Joel!

Happy Birthday to Joel! Another birthday in the books. Joel opened his present before work, but all the pictures I took of that were blurry. But he got a new tablet, a Galazy Tab, which has been a lot of fun and he seems to like it so far.

I found out from a friend that the wonderful doughnut shop in Rock Springs makes doughnut cakes, and I just had to get one for Joel for his birthday! It was a huge hit, and super delicious. Who wouldn't love a huge doughnut? Happy Birthday, Joel!

Fun Times

Audrey insisted on going outside to play in the snow after we had what was probably our first real snow of the season. She was so cute, and enjoying the snow so much, I snapped some quick pictures. She loved throwing the snow up in the air.

Of course, playing in the snow makes for one cold little girl, and a bubble bath is the perfect solution.

We went to Vernal for our Stake temple day in November, and after Joel and I went to the temple in the morning we all enjoyed a great lunch at Cafe Rio, and then the kids had fun running around a park. We also spotted an elk on the side of the road on the way there. Fun stuff!

Halloween

For Halloween this year we had a purple princess, an evil purple minion, and a good yellow minion. They sure are cute!

Happy Birthday, William!

William is Eleven! Another year older, and only one year away from becoming a Deacon. Wowza!

Will's birthday was on Sunday this year, so I asked him if he wanted to do anything special on Saturday. He wanted to go to dinner at Don Pedro's, so of course we did! He even got to wear the awesome sombrero and get sung to.

He opened presents Sunday morning, and chose chicken alfredo for dinner. After dinner we sang happy birthday and ate cake! It was delicious! Will got two new Wii games for his birthday. (Well, one new one, and a replacement for our Mario kart that broke a couple months ago). The kids didn't have school the Monday after his birthday, so we basically had a big Wii playing day! It was fun stuff!

Happy Birthday, Will!

Audrey was sick on Will's birthday. Sad face.

Laramie

While I was in Park City for the 10k, Joel took the kids to Laramie for the day! They went to Perkins for breakfast, did some fun stuff at the Dinosaur Museum (which Audrey calls the Dinosaur Room), walked around campus, and hiked around Veedawoo! Joel kept sending me pictures since I wasn't there, and I could tell they had a great time! When we all got home that night the kids told me all about it. They had a super fun day!

10k

I ran my first 10k! I was a little foolish and agreed to run a 10k with some of my friends. I had a couple of months to train, and I'd already been running a little, so I did okay! It was in Park City, so we went down the night before and stayed in a hotel. It was a good experience, overall, and I would like to do another one soon. After the race we had lunch and did some shopping. It was a fun time!

These are the "before" shots. :) Below: Me, Jackie, and Holly did the 10k. Our two other friends who came with us did the half marathon, so they were already gone.

Holly, me, Jackie, and Sheri. Done!

After we got back to Green River we got a picture of all of us with our medals from the race. Fun stuff!

Flag Football

Adam got to play flag football this year. It's the first year the Rec offered it. Big surprise: he loved it!! He did a great job, and his team won most of their games. After the last game the coaches ordered pizza and they ate in the middle of the field. He had a good experience, and I'm sure there will be more football in our future.
