Happy Birthday, William!

William is Eleven! Another year older, and only one year away from becoming a Deacon. Wowza!

Will's birthday was on Sunday this year, so I asked him if he wanted to do anything special on Saturday. He wanted to go to dinner at Don Pedro's, so of course we did! He even got to wear the awesome sombrero and get sung to.

He opened presents Sunday morning, and chose chicken alfredo for dinner. After dinner we sang happy birthday and ate cake! It was delicious! Will got two new Wii games for his birthday. (Well, one new one, and a replacement for our Mario kart that broke a couple months ago). The kids didn't have school the Monday after his birthday, so we basically had a big Wii playing day! It was fun stuff!

Happy Birthday, Will!

Audrey was sick on Will's birthday. Sad face.

Laramie

While I was in Park City for the 10k, Joel took the kids to Laramie for the day! They went to Perkins for breakfast, did some fun stuff at the Dinosaur Museum (which Audrey calls the Dinosaur Room), walked around campus, and hiked around Veedawoo! Joel kept sending me pictures since I wasn't there, and I could tell they had a great time! When we all got home that night the kids told me all about it. They had a super fun day!

10k

I ran my first 10k! I was a little foolish and agreed to run a 10k with some of my friends. I had a couple of months to train, and I'd already been running a little, so I did okay! It was in Park City, so we went down the night before and stayed in a hotel. It was a good experience, overall, and I would like to do another one soon. After the race we had lunch and did some shopping. It was a fun time!

These are the "before" shots. :) Below: Me, Jackie, and Holly did the 10k. Our two other friends who came with us did the half marathon, so they were already gone.

Holly, me, Jackie, and Sheri. Done!

After we got back to Green River we got a picture of all of us with our medals from the race. Fun stuff!

Flag Football

Adam got to play flag football this year. It's the first year the Rec offered it. Big surprise: he loved it!! He did a great job, and his team won most of their games. After the last game the coaches ordered pizza and they ate in the middle of the field. He had a good experience, and I'm sure there will be more football in our future.

Labor Day

I don't think we usually do much for Labor Day, but we did have a lovely Labor Day this year.  Joel and I cleaned out the garage in the morning (much needed!). Then we had a picnic and played at the park. I was worried Audrey wouldn't have much fun at this park because it's pretty much just this huge spider-web thing. But once she got the hang of it, thanks to Joel showing her how, she was loving it!

After the park Joel took the boys rabbit hunting. And then in the evening we went to a friend's house for dinner. Before bed, Will told me, "This was one of the best days ever."

Random Pictures

One day Audrey put this sweet outfit on to play outside, so I had to grab some pictures.

While on a date, Joel and I were walking around downtown Green River after dinner and decided to snap a picture with one of the many statues in our great town. :)

I hope you can read this. Adam wrote this in school about his burn when he was two. Obviously his recollection is a little sketchy. It made me laugh! Along with the comment from the teacher!

One morning when Adam was leaving for school there were three bucks in our front yard.

A day or two later there was a doe and her two fawns.

I've been taking Audrey to story time since the kids went back to school. She decorated these awesome glasses for the craft.

Another great story time craft: a monster mask.

That Yogurt Place for FHE treat is always a hit.

I silly girl in the tub...

She wasn't feeling great after church a while ago, so she asked me to set her lunch next to her on the kitchen floor. She slept there for quite some time.

First Day of School

It was the first day of school for these three. Eighth Grade, Fifth Grade, and Second Grade!

We've got a teenager in the house!

It's official, there is a teenager living in our house! Happy Birthday to our Jenna! It's hard to believe she's thirteen, but she sure is growing up. She chose to go to the zoo for her birthday, so after opening presents in the morning we hit the road and went to the zoo!

It was a cloudy day with a little bit of rain, which made for a lovely cool day, especially for August. We packed a picnic lunch and enjoyed seeing all of the animals there. We went to a bird show in the afternoon which was actually very cool.

After the zoo we went to Red Robin for dinner. It was delicious, and we were stuffed!

Happy Birthday, Jenna! We love you!
