End of the school year

The kids got done with school on the 26th of May, and even though Will was sick they had a fun last week of school. There were root beer float parties, pizza parties, Will's Kindergarten graduation party...
...and Jenna had her third grade concert that was all about planets. Joel stayed home with the boys because Will was sick, but I got to enjoy the fun, educational concert. :) Here is Jenna looking way too cool in a pair of my sunglasses. They wore them while they sang the "Milky Way Rap".

There were some mixed emotions about the last day of school. Jenna will miss her teacher a lot, and she was extra sad because her teacher retired at the end of this year so Jenna won't even get to see her around school next year. She will also miss her friends from school, and I'm pretty sure she will be happy when school starts up again at the end of the summer.

I think Will is basically just happy to get to stay home all day. He did say he will miss his teacher, but he just doesn't get as sentimental as Jenna does.

On Thursday I had the pleasure of picking up Grandma R (Joel's Mom; Brenda; call her what you will) at the airport. She flew in to stay with our kids while we went on a camping trip. But first we got to enjoy a few days with her. Somehow we didn't manage to get any pictures of Brenda!

On Thursday evening my niece, Erin, graduated from high school! She is the first of my Mom's grandkids to graduate! All of the others will be following shortly, but it's hard to imagine this generation of our family going off to college.

Here are a few of us waiting for the graduation ceremony to start...

And here we are with the high school grad! My niece, Brianna, is in the far right of the picture, and she'll be graduating next year! These girls sure grew up fast!
Friday night we had a girls night since my Mom and Adrienne were in town. We ate some delicious food and played some games. We watched some videos on YouTube and laughed and talked and stayed up way too late. It was great!
We are looking forward to a fun and busy summer!
