I started my long, whirlwind trip by heading off to Utah! The kids and I left early Wednesday morning (the 29th). Joel stayed home because he had school. The drive was long but uneventful. I stayed in Orem with my sister, Adrienne. We always have a great time at Adrienne's house! She has a great tree in her front yard that is perfect for climbing...
The weather was absolutely beautiful on Thursday. It was great to be outside and enjoy a fresh breeze; something that's not possible in Mesa at this time of year. We had a picnic lunch on Thursday at a park close to Adrienne's house. The food was great, and the kids got to play outside.
This isn't a great picture of the kids, but the mountain behind them sure was beautiful.
After the picnic we went to feed some ducks. The kids enjoyed feeding the ducks, and the pelicans were pretty impressive, too. They didn't eat the bread, but they would watch the bread and if a fish came up to eat it they would snap them right up!
Adrienne and I also had a great time trying out recipes, experimenting with nail polish, movie watching, and chatting.
Thanks for the fun time, Adrienne! We love you!
